Once upon a time in a small village nestled deep in the mountains of Japan, lived a fierce dragon. Every night, a thick fog would settle over the village and the villagers would hear a loud roar emanating from the nearby mountain. Some of the villagers were terrified and believed it was the dragon come to wreak havoc on the village, but others knew better.
The dragon, who had been protecting the village for generations, was not a scary creature at all. In fact, she was a gentle and kind spirit who watched over the children, orphans, and widows of the village. Every night she would fly over the village, keeping a watchful eye on the inhabitants. Whenever a child was in danger she would swoop down and protect them.
The dragon was also known to bring gifts to the children. She’d leave sweet treats and small trinkets in their homes and gardens. The children of the village were so grateful for her protection that they would often leave offerings of food and gifts at the entrance to the mountain as a way of showing their appreciation.
The dragon was a beloved part of the village and she was always welcomed with open arms. The villagers were comforted knowing that the dragon was looking out for them and their children. She may have been a terrifying sight in the night sky, but she was a gentle and protective spirit who brought love and joy to the village.
